Compromising Materials on Citizens of Georgia Destroyed in Presence of Journalists
Tbilisi/06.09.13/Turan-BS PRESS: Archive records of the secret photo and video surveillance of the citizens of Georgia were destroyed in one of the buildings of the Interior Ministry in Tbilisi, in the presence of journalists on Sept. 5.
It's about more than 100 discs containing incriminating evidence on the citizens of Georgia, as well as the leaders of the political parties, including the spicy character. In order to destroy the archive a special committee was set up, including representatives of NGOs, public activists, the civil society and the government of Georgia.
"The Ministry of Internal Affairs has found thousands of illegally made videos. We divided them into categories and identified 144 files with video about the personal lives of citizens. The specially created commission and the government took the decision to destroy video display personal life," said the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Irakli Garibashvili, who was present at destruction drives.
The event was also attended by the Minister of Justice of Georgia Tay Tsulukiani, chief prosecutor Archil Kbilashvili and representatives of non-governmental organizations.
The issue of destruction of archive MIA became urgent after the First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Gela Khvedelidze in early May, laid out dirt on the Internet against the journalist Gia Paresashvili. Then Khvedelidze was prosecuted.
Interestingly, the Azerbaijani public waits for such an action, especially as the amount of dirt on the citizens of our country is much higher than in Georgia. -02D-
