Consultative Majlis of Democratic Forces (CMDF) provides a national congress
Session of the Consultative Majlis of Democratic Forces (CMDF) took place today in the headquarters of the "Classical" Popular Front of Azerbaijan (CPFA).
The meeting participants called "timely" preparation of legal memorandum on electoral reform by a group of lawyers. In this connection it was proposed to develop and coordinate the activity of Democratic Forces for the holding fair elections to convene National Congress, with the participation of delegates from the CMDF, Forum of Intellectuals, "Public Chamber", the civil movement "Republican Alternative" ("Real"), the block "Karabakh", etc.
The participants also expressed their concern about the desire to "hush up" scandals related to the publication by the former rector of the International University Elshad Abdullayev the video evidence of corruption.
An organizing committee to hold an event on the 65th anniversary of the deportation of Azerbaijanis from Armenia (1948-53 years) was also organized.

The Prosecutor's Office is investigating the deaths of two people during the recent floods in Baku, Baku Mayor Eldar Azizov said commenting on the consequences of the flooding of tunnels in the capital during the heavy rains on October 22 to journalists. According to him, the sewer system could not handle the large volume of floodwater, which led to the drowning of two people in a tunnel in the Sabunchu district of Baku.
