Defense Ministry refutes reports on links with Fatullah Gulen
The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry called provocation the allegations of flattering remarks to the head of this ministry Zakir Hasanov by the Turkish preacher Fatullah Gulen living in the U.S.A.
Recently in social networks on the Internet appeared a record of a phone conversation of Gulen with one of his people in Turkey. They discussed the appointment of the new defense minister in Azerbaijan. Gulen said he sent congratulations to Hasanov and indicated the feasibility of meeting with him.
In this regard, the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan declared that Hasanov does not know any of these persons in the record and did not get any help from them.
MoD regarded this material as a provocation.
Gulen heads an organization Hizmet, which actually provides ideological support for opponents of the Erdogan government.
