Detained PFPA activist who called for the resignation of H. Abutalybov
Baku/24.02.14/Turan : The activist of the Youth Committee of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA ) and a member of the Apsheron district branch of the organization Tofig Dadashov was detained by persons in civilian clothes in the evening on February 22 at a rented apartment in the village of Mushvig and taken in an unknown direction.
However, only on Sunday relatives found out that Dadashov is contained in the 40th ward of the Binagadi District Police Office.
In this case, the police refuse to provide information on the reasons for detention.
According to his brother of the detained Shahin Dadashov, the activist is persecuted for appeal through Facebook to hold in Baku a protest demanding the resignation of the capital's mayor Hajibala Abutalybov.
On February 19, Dadashov created a group on Facebook " Hajibala Abutalibova resign !!!" (Https://www.facebook.com/events/201923230017839/?fref=ts) and called for a February 23 protest in Baku demanding the resignation of the mayor. The reason for this was the announcement from Abutalybov that " Azerbaijan has only one man - our president."
In recent days, social networks lively debate the video, which captures video frames of the meeting with residents of the former Sovetskaya Street.
During the meeting, a local resident pleased with the operational instruction from Abutalybov to the head of the Garadagh district to accept him, calls the mayor "the only man in this territory." However Abutalibov, interrupting the resident, says: "In Azerbaijan, there is one man - this is our president."
Dadashov, like many social network users, regarded this as insulting Azeri men by Abutalybov.
It is interesting that on February 22 at 20.15 after detention of Dadashov, on his behalf on Facebook there was an announcement on the abolition of actions in connection with their small support.
A member of the Youth Committee of the PPFA Beyim Gasanli told Turan that Dadashov's computer was taken, too. He does not exclude that the record of the cancellation of the action was made on Facebook by the police.
However, she stressed that the decision on the action was Dadashov's personal initiative and the party bore no relation to it.
Gasanli believes Dadashov is persecuted for political reasons and intends to vigorously defend the rights of the PPFA activist. Already, on Monday, an independent counsel will be engaged to protect his rights. -06D-
