Azerbaijan and Russia are holding discussions on a joint project in the field of engineering, said Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin at the meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Baku on May 18.
The Azerbaijani President noted the successful and dynamic development of the bilateral relations, the official website of the President reports.
According to Aliyev, the visit of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation to Azerbaijan was a good opportunity to re-examine the issues related to the agenda of the bilateral relations.
Aliyev especially appreciated Rogozin's role as co-chair of the joint Azerbaijan-Russian Intergovernmental commission in the development of the relations between Russia and Azerbaijan.
Aliyev said cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia covers all areas of the bilateral relations, including foreign policy, economy, social, humanitarian and other spheres. Aliyev noted the importance of this meeting in terms of the consideration of the results of the work done and to plan future steps.
In turn, Rogozin stressed the importance of the meetings of the intergovernmental joint commission on cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia in trade, economic, cultural, educational and other spheres. Rogozin said that currently underway is a joint project in the field of engineering, which may be of interest for Russia and Azerbaijan.
The sides exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
Note that this is the third visit of Rogozin, who oversees MIC issues in the Russian government, to Baku this year. -06D--
