Dmitry Rogozin on Outcome of His Visit to Baku
«The main result of the visit to Baku is that the parties have confirmed that they are responsible and reliable partners in such a sensitive area as military-technical cooperation." About this Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, Dmitry Rogozin wrote on Twitter, commenting on the results of his talks with Ilham Aliyev.
As is known, the Russian side said that Azerbaijan did not fully pay for the delivered arms totalling $ 4 billion. The unpaid funds were not disclosed, but we can assume that we the talk is about millions of dollars.
The two-day talks were attended by representatives of Russian authorities - Rosoboronexport and the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation.
The trip was not planned previously: "Some difficulties appeared with export contracts to be resolved at the highest level," the newspaper Kommersant was told by a source in these departments.
The sides will consider the payment on arms contracts signed several years ago. After the fall in oil prices, Azerbaijan had problems with payment. "It even happened that the equipment they ordered was manufactured and delivered, but they are in the port of unloading, waiting for resolution of the whole situation," said the source of the newspaper. -02B-
