The Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov received today Christian Danielsen - Director-General for Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement of the European Commission.
According to the press service of the Foreign Ministry, during the meeting Mammadyarov welcomed the launch of negotiations on the preparation of an agreement on strategic partnership with Azerbaijan.
He expressed the hope that this agreement will contribute to the comprehensive development of relations between Azerbaijan and the EU.
In turn, Danielsen said the EU's intention to promote dialogue and co-operation with Azerbaijan. It was noted that in the near future delegation of parties will start negotiations on an agreement.
During the meeting they also discussed cooperation in energy issues, the state of the execution pipeline TAP projects and TANAP.-16D-
