MEPs called on Azerbaijan to release all political prisoners before the European Games, according to sources in Strasbourg.
President of the European Parliament Alexander Graf Lambsdorff said that the Azerbaijani authorities should ensure that the rights and freedoms of their citizens are observed under the European Convention of Human Rights and the Declaration on Human Rights.
The European Parliament is preparing to take a resolution on the human rights situation in Azerbaijan during its session this June. Prior to that, MEPs demand the release of journalists, human rights defenders and political activists on the lists of political prisoners. -03D04-

On Saturday, December 7th, a session of the "Musavat" Party's Majlis took place. The Majlis also approved a decision by the party’s board to grant district organizations of "Musavat" the authority to nominate candidates for the municipal elections scheduled for January 29, 2025.
