European Union: central attention is given to the case of Hilal Mammadov
The head of the group of EU Eastern Partnership Program, John Kyaer, sent an e-mail to Atakhan Abilov, the head of the Public Committee to Protect the Rights of Hilal Mammadov, the arrested head of the Talysh Cultural Center. The letter was prepared on behalf of the Commissioner Füle in response to a letter dated October 24, Abilov.
The case of Hilal Mammadov is under control of my department and the EU office in Baku. Mammadov also matter was brought to the attention of the Ombudswoman of Azerbaijan in the form of an official request by the EU Delegation. In the future we plan to meet with the family to express solidarity of the EU.
Mamedov matter will be raised in the human rights dialogue EU-Azerbaijan within the Subcommittee on Justice, Home Affairs and Human Rights, EU-Azerbaijan to be held on November 19-20, and will be included in the agenda of the dialogue with Azerbaijan," the message says. -02D-
