FSB Director Solves Border Issues Between Armenia and Azerbaijan?
Baku / 18.12.20 / Turan: Director of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia Alexander Bortnikov arrived in Yerevan early Friday morning. This information was confirmed by the National Security Service of Armenia, without specifying the purpose of the visit.
The day before, Armenian media reported that Bornikov would arrive at the request of Prime Minister Pashinyan in order to settle border disputes with Azerbaijan. Bornikov will stay in Yerevan for a couple of hours and leave for Baku, the Armenian media said.
If this message is true, then we are talking about an attempt to soften the requirements of Azerbaijan when restoring the state border with Armenia. Thus, over 30 years of occupation, the Armenians built roads and other infrastructure on Azerbaijani lands. Now they propose to lay the border so that the roads remain on their side. At the same time, territorial exchange for the purpose of compensation is not excluded.
In particular, today, before 5 pm, the Armenians must return the occupied territory in Zangelan, which is directly adjacent to the city of Kafan. This provoked protests from local residents who refused to leave these lands. In the same time. Armenian troops have withdrawn from there, but the armed volunteers refuse to leave.
The situation is similar along the road from Goris to Kafan.-02D-
