GENERAL SECRETARIAT OF COUNCIL OF COOPERATION BETWEEN TURKIC COUNTRIES TO BE SET UP
    The session of Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan took place in Istanbul yesterday within the framework of X summit of Turkic-speaking states.
     Ministers have approved the draft decision on creation of the General Secretariat of the Council of Cooperation of Turkic Countries. The Secretariat will implement important programs in fields of education, culture and social area, said Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmat Davutoglu.
     The ex-Ambassador of Turkey to Russia Halil Akynchy will be head of the Secretariat, which will be based in Istanbul. The Fund for Protection of Turkish Cultural Heritage will be located in Baku and the Turkic Academy in Astana.
     It is also planned to set up the Turkish Business Council and the Turkish Insurance and Development Bank.
