On December 15, in the Milli Majlis was held the 9th session of the Parliamentary Assembly (PA) of the GUAM. Participants of the event spoke about the role and authority of GUAM, with which want to cooperate many countries and international organizations. According to the vice-speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament Valeh Aleskerov, GUAM plays an important role in ensuring regional security. Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov, in turn, said that GUAM has become an important platform for cooperation among member countries. According to him, GUAM plays an important role in the settlement of the existing conflicts on the territory of the Member States. It should be noted that in recent years official Baku distanced GUAM activities, rather than to participate in them.

On the evening of February 5, it was reported that journalist Shahnaz Beylargizi had been arrested. She had been a presenter on the Toplum TV channel for several years.
