Ilham Aliyev offers mediation in the normalization of relations between Turkey and the Russian Federation
Azerbaijan is ready to make efforts to reduce and eliminate the tension in Turkish-Russian relations, stated President Ilham Aliyev at a meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu. According to the website of the President, about the tensions in relations between Turkey and Russia, Aliyev said that Azerbaijan has close historical ties with both countries, and regrets and concerns about this tension. President Ilham Aliyev said that the Azerbaijani side is ready to make efforts to reduce and eliminate the tension in Turkish-Russian relations. Nothing is reported about the reaction of Cavusoglu.
Since yesterday representatives of official Baku repeat willingness to mediate in the normalization of relations between Turkey and Russia, however, but neither Moscow nor Ankara has responded.
During the meeting, Aliyev and Cavusoglu were also discussed issues related to the settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict; the sides exchanged views on the implementation of projects by Turkey and Azerbaijan TANAP, TAP, Baku-Tbilisi-Kars, etc.-06D-
