Jalaloglu: Let the Heydar Aliyev Foundation also reveal sources of funding
In normal societies, there is control of public organizations for government agencies, and not vice versa. However, in Azerbaijan, on the contrary, the state wants control NGOs and parties, said Sardar Jalaloglu, the head of the Democratic Party, commenting on the new rules for financial reporting by political parties approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
In his view, the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers violates the principle of equality of all before the law and opens the door to government interference in the activities of the opposition.
"Of course, such a unilateral control over political parties serves only the interests of the ruling party," said Jalaloglu.
Financial authorities in Azerbaijan - is part of the state apparatus, and the public does not believe that they will keep financial secrets of the opposition and those who provide them financial assistance in the form of donations.
In addition, in no country in the world there is an order of publishing by the parties their financial statements in the newspapers. "Why is not this applied to pro-government NGOs and foundations, for example, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, why do not they publish reports on their activities," said Jalaloglu. -06D-
