Meetings with the Chief of Staff of the United States and the Russian Federation in the Defense Ministry
On Thursday A meeting with the head of the US Joint Staff Committee Joe Dunford took place in the Ministry of Defence. Azerbaijani Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov and Dunford discussed issues of bilateral military cooperation, as well as in the framework of NATO program and "strong support" in Afghanistan press-service of the Defense Ministry. The parties
also discussed security issues in the Caspian Sea region, the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.
In the afternoon Zakir Hasanov received the Chief of General Staff of the Russian Federation Valery Gerasimov who arrived in Baku to meet with Dunford. The sides discussed issues of regional security, military-technical cooperation, and other issues of mutual interest. -02D-
