Ministry of Taxes Transfers Turan News Agencys Complaint to Court
Baku / 20.09.17 / Turan: On September 19, in the evening, the Turan news agency received a new letter from the Ministry of Taxes of Azerbaijan, dated September 11. It refers to the termination of the investigation initiated by the news agency"s complaint.
This letter on behalf of the head of the Tax Risks Department Jabrayil Farid says the Turan news agency"s complaint with a request to cancel the decision to conduct an on-site tax audit of August 14 was considered.
The Turan news agency appealed against the decisions of the latest cameral inspections of the news agency"s activities for 2014-2016 on charging tax sanctions.
"During the audit it was established that the relevant claim of the news agency was submitted to the Administrative Economic Court No. 1. Given that simultaneously the conduct of administrative and judicial verification is impossible, the Turan news agency"s appeal to terminate the investigation against it has been transferred to the judiciary.
It was decided to stop the investigation of the Turan news agency"s complaint that was started earlier," the letter says.
It should be reminded that the Baku City Local Income Department of the Ministry of Taxes restored tax sanctions against the Turan news agency for 2014-2016 in the amount of 37 thousand manat.
However, on September 12 Turan also received three letters from the same department, dated September 11, which stated that the news agency had no debts on taxes and any penalties.
We cannot say what happened in this ministry in these few days and how to explain that the same ministry changes its position by 180 degrees without explaining the reasons.
It is curious that after the cancellation of tax sanctions, the Turan news agency's accounts were unblocked.
On August 7, the Local Income Department charged the Turan news agency with unpaid taxes for 2014-2016 in the amount of 37,000 manat and initiated a criminal case.
On August 25, the Turan news agency"s director Mehman Aliyev was arrested. However, on September 11, he was released on his own recognizance not to leave the place. -02D-
