MP Criticizes Government's Policy of Increasing Prices
Baku / August 20, 12 / Turan: The recent increase in the size of a number of duties and fees, the cost of travel on public transport and now also premium gasoline prices will have a negative impact on the population. This was stated by the head of the National Revival Movement, MP Faraj Guliyev, commenting on the rise in price of gasoline prices of AI-95 and AI-98.
According to him, replenishment of the budget due to higher prices is not a way out of the situation, and we must look for alternative ways.
He noted that increasing the cost of travel in the metro and on the bus transport, the rise in price in the consumer market by 16-18% worsens the financial situation of the population.
Guliyev considers the rise in price of gasoline in the oil-producing country as puzzling.
In his view, it is clear when export prices rise. However, the increase in prices inside the country, when the price of oil is stable, does not lend itself to any logical explanation and is nothing more than "paddling the people"s pocket".
He said the increase in AI-92 gasoline is inadmissible.
"It would be a mistake. If such a step is taken, then it will be necessary to raise prices for pensions, salaries, provide compensation, so that the people do not suffer from this," Guliyev said.
Since August 1, tariffs for public transport have been increased by 50%.
On August 19 prices at the gas stations went up by 20 and 6 percent for the gasoline AI-95 and AI-98. In addition, the government raised the size of a number of duties. -05B06--
