Mustafa Hajibayli Released, but Again Summoned to Prosecutor's Office
Baku / 10.07.18 / Turan: The editor-in-chief of the bastainfo.com website and the head of the Musavat party's press service, Mustafa Hajibayli, was questioned in the Baku City Prosecutor's Office for about seven hours and was released only by 23.00. Turan was informed about this in the Musavat party.
"On July 9, Mustafa Hajibayli was in the Baku City Prosecutor's Office from 15.55 to 20.30 and was released at 20.30. However, after 20 minutes he was again invited to the prosecutor's office for interrogation. Mustafa Hajibeyli was seized a computer, a mobile phone and documents related to the website bastainfo.com for examination. At about 11.00 pm he was released," said the party's representative.
On July 10 at 15.00 he was summoned again for questioning to the City Prosecutor's Office.
Hajibeyli himself on his Facebook page wrote that he was involved in a criminal case under Article 313 (forgery) as a witness.
The day before, the Prosecutor General's Office announced the initiation of a criminal investigation into the dissemination of false information and unlawful appeals in connection with the attempt on the head of Ganja Elmar Veliyev in several Internet sources. The prosecutor's office appealed to the Ministry of Communications to block the websites Bastainfo.com, criminalaz.com, topxeber.az andfia.az.
The editor-in-chief of criminalaz.com, Anar Mammadov, was also brought in as a witness. The leaders of the other two websites were warned. -03B-

On November 19, the Sabail District Court of Baku granted the prosecution's request to extend the pretrial detention of Talysh researcher Iqbal Abilov for another four months, his lawyer, Rovshan Rahimov reported. According to the lawyer, the defense considers Abilov’s detention to be unjustified and disputes the charges brought against him. Abilov himself also rejected the accusations. The defense plans to file an appeal against the court's decision.
