Nalbandian as lawyer of the OSCE Minsk Group
In his speech on 7 December, at the 19th meeting of OSCE foreign ministers in Dublin , the Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, accused Azerbaijan.
"Dozens of trips of the OSCE Minsk Group to the region, unfortunately, were not successful, because the Azerbaijani side, one by one rejected all offers of the co-chairs. We see the attempts of Azerbaijan to undermine the work under the mandate of the OSCE," said Nalbaldyan.
In his view, Azerbaijan takes maximalist negotiating position, and impedes the work of the Minsk Group. "Azerbaijan tries to replace the mediators and denigrate their efforts," said Nalbandian.
He reminded about the release of the Azerbaijani officer Ramil Safarov extradited from Hungary. Nalbandian stressed that in Azerbaijan "he was turned into a symbol of national pride."
Nalbaldyan noted that "Armenia is on the side of the co-chairs towards a peaceful settlement." "We also regret that no breakthrough was obtained in the Kazan summit," said Nalbandian.
Previously the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister, Elmar Mammadyarov, said that the obstacle to resolving the conflict is just the position of Armenia, which does not want to change the status quo and the liberation of the occupied territories of Azerbaijan.
Speeches of the heads of delegations of the 57 OSCE and partners continue today in Dublin. After the completion of all presentations ministers will adopt a number of documents as part of the OSCE Ministerial Council. -04С-
