National Council called on the people actively defend their rights
The National Council of Democratic Forces (NCDF) adopted an appeal to the people, calling on citizens to actively fight for their rights. Power is not elected by the people, not accountable to it, and has no legitimacy cannot solve social and economic problems, nor the question of political prisoners, or the determination of the liberation of the occupied territories, the statement says. The way to solve all these issues is that people must take over their own destiny. NCDF is ready to take decisive steps if the society is mobilized in the name of change in the country. "We once again call on the people to be active, to consolidate around NCDF and become the master of his own destiny," says the document. Despite the release in recent years about two dozen activists, journalists and bloggers, there was further politically motivated arrests, and there are up to 100 political prisoners. Authorities promise to release political prisoners by international organizations, on the other hand continued repression. NCDF also accuses the authorities of simulation of economic reform and the adoption of "useless" instructions. In particular, the authors of the appeal condemn the mass demolition and destruction of architectural buildings in the area of the former Sovetskaya Street.-03D-
