NCDF Accused Authorities of "State Crime"
The National Council of Democratic Forces (NCDF) made a statement in connection with testimony in court by the leader of the movement Muslim Unity Thale Bagirzade on the use of torture against him in order to "recognize" any involvement in the Nardaran events of the head of NCDF Jamil Hasanli and the leader of the Popular Front Party Ali Kerimli.
The statement indicated that the police held a special operation in Nardaran on November 26, 2015, as a result of which 6 people, including two police officers, were killed. They called it "black spot in the history of Azerbaijan."
According to the authors, the dead were victims of not only the "oppression, injustice, incompetence and irresponsibility of the state", but also "horrific crimes planned and ruthlessly carried out by the authorities."
NCDF notes that the actions of law enforcement bodies create a lot of questions.
First of all, why was it necessary to carry out the entire operation to arrest Bagirzade, while he always visited the law enforcement authorities immediately after he was called? Why was it necessary to carry out military operations inside the village, exposing civilians, including children, women and the elderly to risk?
Also drawing attention is the fact that Bagirzade was tortured to testify that the Nardaran events were "organized" by NCDF, Jamil Hasanli and Ali Kerimli.
"All this shows that the authorities are using public resources - the security forces, and completely controlled TV channels to eliminate their political opponents," the statement noted.
After Bagirzade showed resilience and endurance and did not slander the opposition politicians, they arrested an NCDF member, deputy chairman of Azerbaijan Popular Front Party Fuad Gahramanli on trumped-up charges. He just published his opinion on the events in Nardaran on Facebook.
In conclusion, the statement condemned "attempts of the Aliyev regime to eliminate its political alternative – NCDF by illegal means." The statement requires the authorities to "put an end to the anti-national policy and liberate the victims of this political game," as well as all other political prisoners. " -06B--
