Norway Closes Embassy in Azerbaijan and Opens Diplomatic Mission in Georgia
Baku / 09.11.18 / Turan: The Government of Norway decided to close the embassy in Azerbaijan. This was reported by the Foreign Ministry of this country.
As the Norwegian Foreign Minister Ericsen Soreide explained, relations between the two countries will be implemented through the Norwegian Embassy in Turkey. At the same time, the consulate general will operate in Baku.
At the same time, Oslo decided to open an embassy in Georgia. Commenting on this decision, Soreide said that "Georgia is the main partner" of Norway in the South Caucasus.
At the same time, she stressed that the reforms carried out in Georgia brought it closer to "European and Euro-Atlantic structures."
In her opinion, the presence of the embassy in Georgia will allow the government "to better monitor the development of events in the whole region." -06d--
