Paris Ready to Organize Meeting of Presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia
Paris is ready to organize a meeting for the talks between the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia Ilham Aliyev and Serzh Sargsyan in the framework of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement, French Foreign Minister Jean Marc Eyraud stated.
"France, along with Russia and the United States, is the co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, and strives for a peaceful settlement of the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan. I was at the meetings of President Francois Hollande with the leaders of the two countries (in March - ed.). Hollande once again stated France's readiness to contribute to the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict," the AzerTAJ Agency quoted J.M. Eyraud.
According to him, the conflict must be settled peacefully. "If the parties want negotiations and are ready to sign a peace treaty, then France is ready to organize such a meeting. The current status quo complicates the situation, but the conflict must be resolved through diplomacy. France is ready to continue to act as an intermediary until the conflict is resolved," the Foreign Minister added.
