Moscow/17.05.21/Turan: Russia is in constant contact with Baku and Yerevan, efforts are being made to defuse tensions on the border of Armenia and Azerbaijan, the press secretary of the Russian leader Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Monday. Last week, acting Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said during an extraordinary session of parliament that he had written a letter to Putin asking for help, including military, because of the situation in the Syunik region on the border with Azerbaijan.

"You know that the Russian and Armenian sides are in constant contact. We are also in constant contact with Baku. The President is a staunch supporter of the implementation of trilateral agreements. Vigorous efforts are now being made to defuse tensions and rectify the situation," Peskov said.

When asked whether the Russian president received a letter from Pashinyan on the provision of military assistance, the Kremlin representative found it difficult to answer. "I can't tell you for sure, but all these issues were naturally repeatedly discussed in the course of bilateral contacts," Peskov said. -02D-
