Police detain youth in Sumgait for a protest in Baku
In connection with the protest planned by the Public Chamber today, in Sumgait (36 km from Baku) police arrested several activists of the opposition party Musavat.
In particular, in Sumgait they detained four members of the party's youth organization, led by its local leader Fakhraddin Abbas. All of them were taken to the police.
At the same time, the police came to the apartment of the deputy of the local branch of Musavat Vidadi Feyzi, demanding that he come to the police.
According to sources in the opposition camp, all the detentions are related to the planned protest rally in the center of Baku, during which the Public Chamber would demand the protection of human rights. Authorities are trying to limit the number of participants of the action and to prevent their arrival in Baku from the suburbs.-05B-
