Putin granted Vardanyan's request, while Peskov and Zakharova rejected Pashinyan's criticism of peacekeepers
Baku/22.12.22/Turan: Russian President Vladimir Putin granted the application of Russian billionaire Ruben Vardanyan to renounce Russian citizenship in order to move to Karabakh. The corresponding decree was published on the official Internet portal of legal information.
After today's criticism of Armenian Prime Minister Pashinyan against Russian peacekeepers that they do not fulfill their functions of ensuring traffic in the Lachin corridor, this statement was rejected by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Peskov.
“Peacekeepers act exclusively in accordance with the spirit and letter of those relevant documents that were signed between the countries. We, of course, will continue to discuss this topic with our Armenian colleagues and allies," Peskov told reporters.
Press secretary of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Zakharova, was more categorical. “I can say the opposite. Russian peacekeepers are fulfilling their mission... Actions are being taken, work is underway," Zakharova said.
According to her, there have been cases of aggravation before, the parties exchanged accusations, it was the Russian peacekeepers who did everything to stabilize the situation, and everything worked out for them. Therefore, such an attitude towards Russian peacekeepers is “not accepted”. ---02D---
