Ten protesters arrested in Baku
Ten members of Saturday protests demanding the dissolution of the Milli Majlis were sentenced to administrative arrest from 5 to 7 days. In particular, for 7 day were arrested activists of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA) Mahammad Ibrahim, Inglab Kerimov, Zulfugar Eyvazli (former "prisoner of conscience"), Orhan Dzharchy, Babak Hasanov (former "prisoner of conscience") and Dayanat Babayev, and also a member of Azerbaijan Democratic Party (ADP) Hafiz Adygezalov. For 5 days were arrested the head of the youth organization of ADP Jamil Hajiyev, an activist of the party Musavat Elchin Dzharulla and nonpartisan Muhammad Aliyev.
During the event there were detained about 65 people. In addition to these 10 other detainees were released after they were fined at 12-25 manats and warned.
During the action, some of the opposition members were inflicted injuries. In particular, the Adviser to the Chairman of PPFA Gezal Bayramli had her arm dislocated.
It is noteworthy that while in the Sabail district police despite the request by the activist, she was not given medical assistance.
Recall, the reason for the resignation of the Parliament was the appearance of a video interview by MP Guler Ahmadova with the former rector of Azerbaijan International University Elshad Abdullayev, during which they discussed the bribe for the election of Abdullayev to the MM. The opposition believes that this video is proof of rigging elections and meant that the deputies were appointed on the lists pre-defined in the Presidential Administration. -06D -
