Will Baku be satisfied with the response note from Foreign Ministry of Uruguay?
The ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uruguay responded to the note of the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Azerbaijan in connection with the visit of the delegation headed by the chairman of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of this country to the occupied territories of Azerbaijan.
According to the Foreign Ministry, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uruguay, in a note to the visit of Uruguayan deputies to Nagorno-Karabakh noted that the international activities of Uruguay are based on such strong and traditional principles and values, as the sovereignty and territorial integrity, self-determination of peoples, non-intervention in internal affairs, peaceful conflict resolution, full respect for international law, as well as other fundamental principles underlying the United Nations, one of the founding members of which is Uruguay.
The note also highlights that one of the principles of the UN Charter, on which firmly and confidently stands the Uruguayan government, is the preservation of international peace and security. "In this sense, Uruguay has deep traditional ties with Armenia and sincere and constructive and friendly relations with Azerbaijan. Therefore the greatest desire of the Government of Uruguay can be nothing else than making efforts to resolve the contradictions that exist between the two friendly countries for Uruguay, through dialogue, understanding and other peaceful means to protect co-existence and co-operation of the peoples and governments. And this, of course, will be reflected in the development and prosperity of the entire region. Any behavior, or position of Uruguay should not be considered outside of the framework. And there can be no question that the marked principles could pursue other aims or intentions," is said in the response note. -06d--
