The appointment of Mehriban Aliyeva will not solve the country`s problems - "REAL"
The movement "Republican Alternative" (REAL) issued a statement on the appointment of Mehriban Aliyeva the First Vice-President. "REAL" remains at its previous position that the amendments to the constitution in 2009 and 2016 were anti-democratic by nature and are aimed at usurpation of power by one family. Therefore, the appointment of Mehriban Aliyeva as the first vice-president is a step aimed at the destruction of republican values. This is contrary to the principles of modern democratic governance and deals a big blow to the country's image. "REAL" believes that this step will not only solve the socio-economic problems of the country, but also exacerbate them. "REAL" believes that a safe and prosperous future of Azerbaijan depends entirely on the accession of republican values, to ensure the full rights and freedoms, the creation of a free and independent judicial system and other necessary political and economic reforms. "REAL" will continue its fight to democratic ways of bringing such a future for Azerbaijan, reads the statement.-06D-
