The Court will consider the complaint of theologian on tortures

On April 11, the Sabunchu District Court is to consider the complaint on tortures against Taleh Bagirzade, the theologian from the village of Nardaran. According to the lawyer, Cavad Cavadli, the complaint was filed to the Sabunchu District Police. According to him, during the arrest and during detention in the Sabunchu Police Office, Bagirzade was beaten. However, an examination is delayed.

"The traces of violence gradually disappear. There are traces and pain on the right wrist, and it means serious injury," said Cavadli. According to him, Bagirzade is not allowed to meet with relatives, and he is kept in the Office to fight against organized crime. The lawyer wants to obtain his transference to prison.

Turan failed to get comments in Sabunchu district police.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the complaint is unfounded.

Bagirzade was arrested on March 31 on charges of illegal possession of drugs (Article 234.1). According to investigators, he had seized 1,026 heroin.

However, the real reason for his arrest is his sharp public criticism of the authorities via Youtube, say Bagirzade’s relatives. -16B06-
