The ECHR sent a complaint about the murder of journalist Rasim Aliyev
A complaint was sent to the ECHR in the case of the murder of journalist Rasim Aliyev, told the family of the journalist's lawyer Fariz Namazly.
Family is unhappy that the hospital doctor and prosecuted football Javid Huseynov is the case of the beating of the journalist, after which he died in hospital, remain unpunished.
According to the lawyer, the defense has repeatedly filed motions on the responsibility of doctors of the urban clinical center, due to the negligence of which the operation of Aliyev was not made in a timely manner. The investigation also denied to convict Huseynov, as the organizer of the attack, and the athlete was arrested only for a report about the impending crime and received a lighter sentence, he was soon released.
The complaint raises questions of infringement of Huseynov, guaranteed by Articles 2 (right to life), 10 (freedom of expression) and 13 (right to an effective legal remedy) of the European Convention.
* Rasim Aliyev was brutally beaten by a group of athletes August 8, 2015, and the next day he died in hospital. Defendants in the case were six people, including a football player Javid Huseynov, but soon his case had been separated from production and was considered separately.
On May 31 Sabail District Court of Baku found Huseynov guilty under Articles 307.1. (Failure to inform about known preparing or committed minor serious or serious crimes) and 307.2. (Obviously not promised concealment serious crime) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan , and sentenced him to four years in prison. However, the October 12, 2016 Court of Appeal released him from custody.
Five other defendants were found guilty directly in the beating Aliyev, which caused death and were sentenced to long prison terms. The cause of the massacre of a journalist became the critical status of the journalist about Huseynov.-06D-
