The State Commission confirmed serious shortcomings in the work of Azerenerji
Baku / 04.09.18 / Turan: The official reason for removal Etibar Pirverdiev from the post of OJSC "Azerenerji" became the accident at the Mingachevir HES in early July, which led to an energy blackout, reads the message of the presidential administration.
It is recalled that on July 3 there was an accident on one of the transformers of the said power plant. As a result, serious problems arose in the power system of the country and interruptions in the supply of electricity to 39 cities and regions of the country, including Baku and Ganja. On the same day, a state commission was set up to investigate the causes of the accident on behalf of the president.
The State Commission, with the involvement of local and foreign experts, as well as specialists from the relevant state structures, investigated the causes of blackout and prepared a comprehensive conclusion, pointing out the drawbacks that led to a malfunction in the country's energy system.
One of the reasons was that "Azerenergy" was not ready for emergency situations, technical and a number of other shortcomings in the activities of the structure, and inability to respond adequately to emergencies. The head of state, familiarized with the commission's conclusion, dismissed Pirverdiyev from the post of the head of the OJSC "Azerenerji", the report says. -06B-
