There are "positive signals" coming from Karabakh Armenians - Ilham Aliyev
Baku/29.04.22Azerbaijan considers Armenians living in Karabakh as its citizens, President Ilham Aliyev said on Friday.
"We hope that they, too, will soon understand that as citizens of Azerbaijan, they will enjoy all rights and freedoms, and their security will be ensured," Aliyev said at a meeting with participants of the conference "Young Caucasus: development and cooperation".
At the same time, he added, positive signals are coming from the Karabakh Armenians, and initial contacts have already been initiated.
"Within the framework of the Azerbaijani state Karabakh Armenians can develop economically, feel more secure and comfortable. However, first of all, separatist sentiments should be abandoned and realities should be accepted".
Also, Aliyev pointed out that hundreds of thousands of Azerbaijanis will soon return to Kalbajar, Lachin, Shusha, Agdam and Armenians should live with them "in an atmosphere of neighbourhood".
"Karabakh Armenians should put an end to the hostilities, isolate the separatists and they will see the benefits of this," he stressed.-06D-
