Vilayat Eyvazov reports on the fight against trafficking
At today's plenary session of the Milli Majlis Vilayat Eyvazov, a national coordinator for combating trafficking made a report. He said that over the last 10 months, 115 crimes related to trafficking have been revealed. Eighty five people were brought to justice; only two cases of forced labor were found.
During this period, two branched crime groups and six gangs were made harmless, and three of wanted were detained.
Ten people convicted for a crime related to trafficking were imprisoned from five to ten years.
Fifty three victims of trafficking have been identified; 19 of them were in Turkey, 12 in Iran, two in the UAE, 14 in Russia, six more were used as sex slaves in the country.
Of the total, 35 women were unmarried, 17 - married, two - minors. Most of the victims had a secondary education (35), four had no education, four more - lower secondary.
According to Eyvazov, every month 400,000 manaty are allocated from the budget for victims. He also noted that this year, 35 victims received a one-time financial assistance in the amount of 400 manat.
Eyvazov noted that over the past three years, 45 NGOs were registered , and some are involved in active fight against human trafficking.
The report noted that as a result of the raids, 455 minors were found involved in the illegal work and begging.

According to a report by Turan correspondent, the discussions took place behind closed doors and lasted for over an hour. No statements were made to the press following the meeting. Furthermore, conference security prevented journalists from asking questions to the meeting participants.

She had been accredited in the "Green Zone" as a civil rights activist. From the moment she entered the conference area, a young man began to follow her.
