Accused in the Events in Guba Judged Indoors?

At today's trial of the events in Guba on March 1, 2012, the judge Zamin Tahirov expelled from the hall a local journalist Jamil Mammadli and the regional representative of the ANC Helsinki Citizens' Assembly.

The judge explained this with the fact that the journalist and the human rights activist had given reports to the media about yesterday's hearing.

"Since there are no more journalists, human rights activists or observers from the OSCE in the hall, it is really an indoor court," Avtandil Mammadli told Turan.

In the dock there are eight rioters of March 1, when thousands of Guba residents angry with the verbal abuse by the district head Rauf Khabibov took to the streets.

The defendants are charged under articles 186.2.2 (destruction or damage to another's property by arson, which led to grave consequences), 233 (organization of actions aimed at disturbing public order or active participation in them), and 315.1 (resistance to authorities or the use of force against them) of the Criminal Code. In the case of evidence against the defendants they will face imprisonment for up to 7 years. -06B-
