Action of Family Members of Persons Involved in Terter Case
Baku /03.12.19 / Turan: Family members of those convicted of the Terter case and who died during the investigation held an action today in the Huseyn Javid Park opposite the Ministry of Justice.
The protesters demanded the release on justification of the convicts and the posthumous rehabilitation of those who died during the investigation and granting them the status of Martyr.
Contrary to the usual, the police did not intervene in the action, but only watched what was happening. Law enforcement authorities did not prevent the announcement of the resolution of the action.
* On May 7, 2017, the Prosecutor General’s Office, the State Security Service, the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan reported the detention of a group of military personnel and civilians for espionage in favor of the Armenian special services.
The prosecutor's office opened a criminal case under article 274 (high treason) of the Criminal Code. The detainees were sentenced to various terms of imprisonment. However, it soon became known that during the investigation at least 8 suspects were killed as a result of torture. Later, the four killed were acquitted, and the investigators who fabricated the charges against them received up to 7 years in prison. -30C-

During search and operational activities, on January 30 at 11:20, 16.4 kg of drugs were discovered and seized in the area of the "Geytapa" border post, located on the Iran-Azerbaijan border.
