Action of protest in front of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Moldova
A picket in front of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Kishinev, demanding freedom Hilal Mamedov, took place on July 23. The rally was organized by the Moldovan Association of "Hyde Park", according to the Institute for Peace and Democracy (IPD.)
The head of the IPD Leyla Yunus, said she hopes that similar events will take place and in front of the embassies of Azerbaijan in other countries, although the authorities once again will call it a provocation of the Armenian lobby and internal "enemies of the nation."
As for the protest action, a group of young people from the human rights association “Hyde Park”, gathered in front of the embassy, and asked the international community to respond to this situation of violation of human rights in Azerbaijan.
The resolution reminded the murder of Novruzali Mammadov in prison, the predecessor of Hilal Mamedov. As for the prosecution of Hilal Mamedov, the Moldovan human rights activists explain it by the concern of official Baku with the harsh criticism in the press because of the millions spent on conducting the Eurovision Song Contest.
At the same time, video, prepared by Hilal Mamedov virtually free of charge, and without any effort at a wedding in the Azerbaijani village, has become very popular and influential within several weeks, borrowed by the Russian opposition and used against Putin. -02D-
