Actions in defense of Azerbaijani political prisoners in European cities
Baku / 23.12.17 / Turan: Actions demanding release of political prisoners in Azerbaijan were held on December 23 in various European cities. The rallies organized by the European Coordinating Center (ECC) of Musavat took place in the cities of Germany - Mainz, Nuremberg and Cologne, French Laval.
Their participants demanded the release of political prisoners, including Alikram Khurshudov, head of the Shirvan organization of the Musavat Party, Ilgar Mammadov, head of the REAL movement, Gezal Bayramli and Fuad Gahramanli, deputy leaders of the Popular Front Party, Ilida Rustamzade, activists of NIDA Movement: Giyas Ibrahimov, Bayram Mamedov, Elgiz Gahraman, journalists and bloggers - Afgan Mukhtarly, Mehman Huseynov, Seymur Hazi, Aziz Orujov and Fikret Faramazoglu, as well as the leader of the Movement "Muslim Unity" Taleh Bagirzade and other convicts on the Nardaran events.
The participants of the actions also demanded the release of Dilgam Asgarov and Shahbaz Guliyev, held by the Karabakh separatists as hostages.
Hundreds of people, mostly political emigrants from Azerbaijan were involved in the actions.
The resolutions of the actions were distributed in Azerbaijani, German and English and sent to international organizations, parliaments of the world's leading states, as well as to the Azerbaijani authorities.
They contain demands for the release of political prisoners and the termination of political persecution. ECM "Musavat" will continue the campaign until political prisoners are released, said the head of the Musavat Center, "Ilgar Hasan.
They also require the authorities to "cease their indifferent attitude to the Karabakh Confict, put an end to corruption and other actions that damage statehood." "The rallies that caused great resonance demanded the release not only of the newly arrested activist of Musavat, Alikram Khurshudov but also of all political prisoners - representatives of the Popular Front Party, REAL, NİDA movements and non-party people." Last night, three earthquakes occurred along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border with magnitudes of 4.8, 3.0, and 3.8, according to the Republican Center for Seismological Service of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan.
