Assassination Attempt on Tural Sadygly Investigated in Nuremberg
Baku / 08.06.18 / Turan: The Azerbaijani oppositionist Tural Sadygly living in German Nuremberg reported that the local police are conducting an investigation into the assassination attempt on him.
As Sadygly told Turan, a few days ago he felt the surveillance of his house by three Azerbaijanis, who are citizens of Azerbaijan.
"They planned an attempt and waited for a convenient moment. However, thanks to the timely intervention of the police, their plan was prevented," he said.
On his Facebook page, he published the photo of the alleged criminal and named his name.
After Sadygly's complaint, the criminal police started a criminal case, which continues.
Sadygly immigrated to Germany in 2014. He is known for harsh criticism of the Azerbaijani authorities in social networks, as well as active participation in protests against the government of Azerbaijan in Europe.
In February 2015, he participated in a protest in Berlin against the visit of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. After that, his brother Elghiz was charged with illegal drug trafficking and arrested and convicted in Baku. In February of this year, Elghiz Sadygly was again arrested for 30 days in administrative order. -03B06-
