At the trial in the case of "Nardaran-2"
In the Baku Court of Grave Crimes on Friday continued Trial in the case of "Nardaran-2", where the accused deputy chairman of the movement "Muslim unity" Elchin Gasimov and 11 other believers gave testimonies continued in the Baku Serious Crimes Court. On 24 February the testimony gave Elgun Akhundov, Ali Shakhbazov and Ramil Aliyev , and told about torture by the police.
According to Ramil Aliyev, in his house during the search were planted grenade and 4 books, supposedly written by the leader of the movement "Muslim unity" Thale Bagirzade.
In the Office for Combating Organized Crime Ministry of Internal Affairs he was beaten with a truncheon on the head and legs, requiring to speak against Bagirzade. Therefore, at the trial Ramil Aliyev gave testimony given under torture. Elgun Akhundov said that during a search in his home police seized $20.000 belonging to his son in law. The money has not been returned.
Nardaran resident Ali Shakhbazov reported that a police inspector, announcing the arrest of his father, said: "You are four brothers, let some of you recognize that arms belong to you, and we will let your father." Therefore, I have undertook it," said Shakhbazov, and added that the police deceived him, because his father was not released, and sentenced him to a year and nine months; later his brother was arrested.
