Azerbaijani family of five killed in Bakhmut
Baku/05.12.22/Turan: An Azerbaijani family of five has been killed on the outskirts of Ukrainian Bakhmut, where fierce fighting is taking place. The press secretary of the United Azerbaijani Diaspora, Gabil Osmanly, told Turan.
According to him, the family of Azerbaijani businessman Hafiz Agayev, who lives on the outskirts of Bakhmut, was hit by a Russian military missile.
Agayev, along with his wife Marina and three children, tried to leave the battle zone but were hit by mortar fire and seriously wounded. They were unable to move and all five of them froze to death in the forest.
The military found their frostbitten bodies and buried them near Bakhmut. Documents were found confirming identities of Hafiz Agayev and Marina Agayeva. They had lived in a village on the outskirts of Bakhmut for about 30 years.
Azerbaijan's Embassy in Ukraine said it had learned about the Agayevs' deaths from the media, but could not yet get official confirmation.
"There are large numbers of Azerbaijani citizens living in Ukraine with expired documents and without registration with the consulate, so it is very difficult to often clarify information about them," the Embassy said. -03В06-
