Border Guards Take Hunter for Armed Intruder ?

Yesterday in the village of Salahli in the Samukh region border guards spotted an armed man, who was trying to illegally cross the state border, the State Border Service stated.

The intruder did not obey the lawful demands of the border guards and committed armed resistance and tried to escape. In accordance with the statute, the guards used their weapons and wounded the offender in his left leg. The offender was detained and taken to a local hospital, according to the same source.

It was found that the offender is a resident of Salahli, Muhammad Isa Oglu Garayev, born in 1966. “When the territory was searched, one 12-millimeter double-barreled hunting gun, a cartridge box and 12 complete and 8 empty cartridges were found,” the Border Service stated.

From this message it is clearly seen the Border Service does not like hunters and does not distinguish hunting weapons. The fact is that 12-mm hunting guns, and especially double-barreled ones, do not exist. Rather, it is a 12-gauge hunting shotgun. There are also no “empty cartridges”, but empty shells.

As for the main issue - about the offender, the border guards did not explain how a local resident, who was on his territory, could become a violator of the border, how a local hunter could try to cross the state border, and why.

Apparently, the guards try to present their actions as legitimate and well-founded. The victim should be rather glad that in his cartridge belt they did not find half a kilogram of heroin, which he would try to sell in Georgia. -C06--
