According to some reports, he was arrested for criticizing the authorities on Faceboook and held at the General Directorate for Combating Organized Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
A minor activist Fatima Movlamly was detained for more than 30 hours in the Binagadi police, where she was forcibly taken evidence.
In recent days, political prisoners were subjected to unjustified arrests in a punishment cell: Ahsan Nuruzade, Elgiz Gahramanly, Afgan Mukhtarly, Saleh Rustamov, Agyl Maharramli, Ruslan Nasirli and Babek Hasanov.
Fuad Ahmedli, an activist of the Popular Front Party, and blogger Mehman Huseynov were denied parole.
Another activist of this party, Mamed Ibrahim and the believer Telman Shiraliyev, were arrested again after the prison sentence expired.
The Center for the Protection of Political Prisoners strongly condemns these facts of pressure on activists and journalists and demands their immediate release.
The Center calls on the Azerbaijani authorities to comply with the fundamental principles of the Constitution, to take effective measures to protect human rights and freedoms.
