As a result of Azerbaijan's actively growing Internet use (the number of users, according to Internet World Stats, currently stands at about 3.7 million people) the social network Classmates will expand their services segment to include communication in Azerbaijani.
At today's press conference, the Director of Marketing and Strategic Communications of the social networks on Mail.Ru Group, Alexander Izryadnov said they would create conditions for the local users of Classmates to communicate with their family and friends in their native language. According to him, 400,000 people visit the social network in Azerbaijan daily. In this case, 38% of the users prefer to communicate with friends, using their phones by downloading the mobile version www.m.odnoklassniki.ru.
This social network, according to the global research firm Alexa.com, along with Mail.ru, Youtube.com, Google.com, and Facebook is one of the five most popular websites in Azerbaijan.
The manager stated that the localization of the resource will be implemented in two phases - first the mobile version, and then the main site.
In the near future localization will also touch the operating platforms Android, iOS and WindowsPhone. -17D-
