Court of Appeal Holds Kelbajar Men behind Bars
Yerevan / 10.03.15 / Turan- ArmInfo: March 10, the court of Karabakh separatists considered an appeal by two former residents of the Kalbajar region of Azerbaijan Dilgam Askerov and Shahbaz Guliyev.
The Court dismissed the appeal and upheld the earlier decision - life imprisonment for Askerov and 22 for Guliyev.
Recall that Guliyev, Askerov and Hasan Hasanov on June 29, 2014 entered the territory of the Kalbajar region occupied by Armenians. As they said, their goal was to visit the graves of relatives. However, they were noticed by Armenians. Hasanov was killed in a shootout, and Guliyev and Askerov were captured.
The Armenian side claims that they killed two people - a teenager of 17 years and an officer of the Armenian Armed Forces.
The Kelbajar men were sentenced at the end of December last year. The convicted do not plead guilty. -02D-
