Gamekeeper Wounded in Firefight with Poachers
Baku / 03/31/18 / Turan: On March 30, a shootout took place between poachers and employees of the Shirvan National Park (120 km south of Baku).
The poachers illegally shooting gazelles refused to fulfill the requirements of the National Park employees and committed armed resistance, shooting the gamekeeper Iltifat Khaligov in the stomach with a hunting rifle. The poachers, residents of the Atbalag village Rahil Agayev and Elvin Israfilov, were chased and detained. A shot gazelle was found on the crime scene.
