New Book by Jamil Hasanli Issued in USA
Baku / 03/31/18 / Turan: Sovietization of Azerbaijan: the South Caucasus in the Triangle of Russia, Turkey and Iran is the name of a new monograph by the famous Azerbaijani historian, Professor Jamil Hasanli, just published by the University of Utah.
This fundamental research covers the period of Sovietization of Azerbaijan - 1920-1922. The book contains archival materials and documents reflecting the aggressive policies of Bolshevik Russia, which, after the collapse of the empire, sought to restore its borders and subjugate the peoples that had just been freed from the Tsar rule.
The monograph describes in detail the processes of the occupation of the South Caucasus by the Red Army, while violations of international norms and obligations were committed.
The study reveals the policy of world powers pursuing their own interests, both in Azerbaijan and the neighboring countries.
The book is intended for specialists in the history of Azerbaijan, the Caucasus and Russia, as well as for students studying the history of the region. -02B-
