High Water Level Still Observed in Rivers
As a result of heavy rainfall of recent weeks, the increased water levels are observed in all the rivers of Azerbaijan.
According to the monitoring of the Ministry of Environment, in the rivers of the Guba-Khachmaz region and in the Greater Caucasus, the water levels are 190-260% higher than the 10-day norm, in the rivers of the Lesser Caucasus they are 230-360% higher, and in the Lankaran-Astara region they are 140-330% higher.
On the main river of the country, Kura, at the Chyragkesemen point water levels decreased by 11 cm on November 4. At present the water flow rate is 200 cubic meters per second, which is 107% of the 10-day norm. A year ago, the figure was 166 cubic meters per second, or 89% of the 10-day norm.
In the Ayirchay point on Ganikh River the water level dropped by 10 cm.
Currently, the water flow rate is 150 cubic meters per second, which equals 178% of the 10-day rate. A year ago at this time, the figure was 243%.
In the Surra and Bank points on the Kura the water level dropped 6 and 7 cm, and in Novruzlu on the Araz River it dropped 4 cm. In Salyan there was no change.
The water level in Surra is 538 cm (in 2015 it was 493 cm), Salyan - 404 cm (322 cm), Bank - 279 cm (241 cm), and Novruzlu - 256 cm (210 cm). -06D--
