Human rights activist Taleh Khasmamedov sentenced to three years
Today, Goychay District Court sentenced a human rights activist Taleh Khasmamedov to three years of imprisonment for hooliganism. The prosecutor asked to condemn him to four years. Oktay Gyulalyev , the head of the Committee to Protect the rights of Khasmamedov, called the verdict unjust execution of political order.
* Khasmamedov was detained in Goychay on February 24 at the exit from the store. A stranger came up to him and spit in the face, and then the man fell to the ground, pretending that Khasmamedov was beating him.
Khasmamedov is known for his human rights activity in Goychay, Ujar region, and for criticizing local authorities for arbitrariness and violation of citizens' rights. -03B06—
