Baku / 09/11/18 / Turan: A group of internally displaced persons blocked the traffic on one of the busy highways of the capital, Tbilisi Avenue.
The protest was connected with not solving the problem with the housing provision of the settlers. In the morning they gathered in front of the State Committee for IDPs. However, they were allowed to pass one by one. The angry IDPs began to resent the behavior of officials. One of the IDPs left on his car and blocked the Tbilisi Avenue in the direction of the center. He was supported by other IDPs.
Police officers demanded that the driver unlock the road. When he refused, he was dragged out of the car by force and taken away. In protest, a group of women gathered in the middle of the road.
Arriving employees of the Rapid Reaction Regiment dispersed the participants of the action.
"Our temporary housing was demolished 9 months ago. We are fed with promises. We want housing," said one of the protesters. "They do not give us apartments, then let them give us at least refuge - a roof over our head," said the woman.
After the protests, officials entered into a dialogue with the protesters.
The road was blocked for 15 minutes, which caused a huge traffic jam more than a kilometer long. -06D--
